Happy #WeddingWednesday, Planner Friends! Today on the blog we have another exciting Society Planner Spotlight. Today’s featured planner is Denae Phipps of Dare to Dream Events.
Denae became a Certified Wedding Planner through The Bridal Society back in 2012 in Kansas, and she hit the ground running with her wedding planning career. She launched her company, Dare to Dream, in the same year with a mission to bring out the dreams in everyone. While running a successful business and serving our next generation as a school teacher, Denae now also serves as one of The Bridal Society’s regional directors.

What do you love most about being a wedding planner?
I love getting to meet people and learn new information and gain new ideas. The organizational side of things is my favorite and I like getting to share some thoughts with the people I meet along the way.
What is your average week like?
My weeks are a little crazy as I have quite a few things going on all at once. I am a school teacher during the day so many of my meetings take place outside of school hours and on weekends. I work a few hours a night sending emails, contacting clients and making any necessary vendor phone calls.
What advice can you give and/or have you received that you can pass on to new/existing planners?
It is very important to never compromise who you are as a person. If something is not in your comfort zone or how you want your business viewed, stand up for yourself.
What is one item you cannot live without on a wedding day?
My clipboard/binder 🙂 It has anything and everything I would need to orchestrate the event and has all the numbers and times at a quick glance.
How do you feel The Bridal Society has helped your career?
It helped break my wall of fear and show me that I can do anything if I continue to try and make new connections.
What is your favorite moment on a wedding day?
I enjoy watching a couple walk in to their space and see their vision in real time. I like seeing the emotion on everyone’s face during the big unveiling and watching months of work all come together.
What is your favorite activity when not coordinating a wedding?
I love playing board games, building puzzles and sitting on the couch with a binge-worthy TV show.
What is your favorite benefit that The Bridal Society offers?
There are so many resources out there and available to us that it makes us look like we are always on top of it and have the trends before they even happen.
