The Wedding Details

The Sweet Couple

Meghan and Rob are an adorable couple from Dubuque, Iowa. Their Gatsby themed event was on 11/11/2017. Brianne said that Rob and Meg were meant to meet. Rob walked into the salon Meghan was working at. Between the great haircut and the fact it was Meghan’s birthday, Rob decided to leave her a great tip. With a little research on Meg’s part to locate Rob on Facebook to thank him for the tip, he asked her out and the rest was history!

The story of their proposal is as cute as can be. Rob decided to propose on a normal Wednesday night. He planned a nice dinner out at a new supper club, and when they returned home there were roses on the counter and a lovely ring tied around the neck of their kitty. Once they began their wedding planning process, Meghan found Brianne by doing a search for wedding planners in Iowa on Google.

The Wedding’s Unique Elements and Style

Meghan and Rob had a very clear vision. They wanted a Gatsby themed wedding. When searching for venues it was important for them to feel that it went with the overall theme and that we didn’t try to make a space just “work”. They decided on the Hotel Julien not only fit the Gatsby theme but also has a history of being associated with the infamous gangster Al Capone. In fact, the bride got ready in the Al Capone suite!

Brianne’s Favorite Moments

Brianne’s favorite part of planning Meghan and Rob’s wedding was being able to work along with them to execute their vision. They were both completely invested in executing the wedding – and it’s not often that she has a groom that takes complete ownership of seating chart and creates the place cards!

Brianne was also excited about doing a themed wedding. It was important to her to make it modern and not what she affectionately referred to as Gawdy Gatsby. (By the look of their beautiful gallery of images, I think it’s safe to say she pulled it off!)

Meanwhile, her favorite part of Meghan and Rob’s actual wedding day was when they did their “First Look”. When Rob turned around and saw Meghan for the first time that day, it was just so sweet. All throughout the day it felt like they were just in their own little bubble enjoying their day.

What Brianne Could Not Live With On This Wedding Day

Brianne said, “My must have for all my weddings is my Kate Spade for Keds sparkly tennis shoes, my cell phone and clipboard with my schedule for the day!”
