Society Planner Spotlight: Stacie Torrence

Happy #WeddingWednesday, Planner Friends! The Bridal Society is like one big family, and one of our favorite things to do is to highlight our amazing members. Today on The Bridal Society’s blog, we have another Society Planner Spotlight featuring one of our North Carolina CWPs, Stacie Torrence of Solid Rock Events.

Meet Stacie

When asked to share a little bit about herself, Stacie tells us, “I am a native of Charlotte, NC., where I have seen this city bloom into the great city where everyone comes to live. I love meeting people, traveling, reading mystery novels based on Christian principles, and just loving life. I have a Bachelors degree from North Carolina Central University in Public Administration. I became a Certified Wedding Planner through The Bridal Society in 2016.”

Get to Know Stacie

What inspired you to become a certified wedding planner?

I was on the planning committee of my family reunion, and I loved the outcome of the planning and hard work of seeing the event come together. I later decided to just focus on weddings. I love the union of two families coming together.

What do you love most about being a wedding planner?

It’s always a girl’s dream to plan her wedding and see it become a reality. When I work with the bridal couple, I love hearing how they want their wedding. Then it’s the big day, and I have to admit that I cry when I see the bride in her wedding gown ready to become a loving wife to her future husband. The look on the grooms face when he see’s his future wife come down the aisle is priceless.

How has your certification and membership with The Bridal Society helped you and your career?

Since I’ve become a certified wedding planner I have learned tremendously from every TBS Sister that has asked questions and have commented on the forum that Laurie especially made for CWPs. I feel being certified holds a special title with future bridal couples because it tells them that you took the time to become certified and you are taking classes to be in tune with the changes of the wedding industry.

Being certified has also helped my career in regards to the integrity of my business because Laurie Hartwell holds you accountable for your actions in your business. She shows you how to be professional and courteous at all times and for that I thank you, Laurie!

What is one item you can’t live without on a wedding day?

Well, I have two items that I can not live without on wedding day and that is my phone and my itinerary.

What type of client do you attract?

I attract clients that are truly in love with each other, compliment one another, and know what they want to see their wedding day as the start to their forever together.

What is your favorite moment on wedding day?

The introduction of the newly couple to their guest and of course the reception.

Final Thoughts

What advice can you give and/or have you received that you can pass on to new/existing planners?

The advice that I would give to the new/existing planners is continue to grow and learn your business and to keep that WHY as a driving force to be the best wedding planner. Listen to your bridal couple with an open mind yet make sure that they are being realistic with the planning of their day.

What advice do you have for engaged couples?

Pray for each other, and don’t go to sleep angry. Communication is the key to any successful relationship!

The Bridal Society gives a special thank you to Stacie for giving us an inside look into her life and business. If you are a TBS Alumni Member who is interested in being a part of our Spotlight Features, please be sure to visit the members only section of The Bridal Society website to check out our Diamond Membership Benefits.
