Happy #WeddingWednesday, Planner Friends! The Bridal Society is like one big family, and one of our favorite things to do is to highlight our amazing members. Today on The Bridal Society’s blog, we have another Society Planner Spotlight featuring one of our Florida CWPs, Jessica Lemieux of Southern Pop Events. Get to know Jessica and her business in today’s post below.
When asked to share with us a little bit about herself and her business, Jessica told us, “I am a southern small-town girl with a French twist and a big believer that everyone deserves a happily-ever-after. I take great joy in learning couples’ love stories, and I thrive helping couples plan their perfect day. Southern Pop Events knows the importance and strength in genuinely connecting with brides and grooms, attention to detail, and excellent listening skills – so we will never stop hustling and innovating to make dream weddings come to life.”

What inspired you to become a certified wedding planner?
With a creative spirit and as an entrepreneur at heart, I worked for years at a desk developing marketing materials and planning events for corporate firms all while learning to balance discipline, structure and imagination – I now apply those skills to every wedding I have the privileged to plan and be apart of.
What do you love most about being a wedding planner?
As a certified wedding planner through The Bridal Society, coordinator, stylist, wedding officiant, and business owner I now work hard at my passions and that gives me freedom to spend time with my supportive hubby and three littles. Living each day with the goal to beam beauty, kindness and love into everything. All while remembering to laugh often.
How has your certification and membership with The Bridal Society helped you and your career?
The education and support I have received from The Bridal Society has been priceless. It has served as a foundation as I have grown my new business and has set me apart from the competition.
What does your average week look like?
A week at Southern Pop Events begins with weekly bridal check-ins and marketing. Throughout the week we hustle to meet with vendors and new clients alike. The weekends are of course, reserved for rehearsals and weddings. Sundays are for family and much needed rest!
What is one item you can’t live without on a wedding day?
My trusty dusty iPad is a must have for all wedding days. It is where I track and view all wedding documents, site maps, design plans, timelines, contact info. and more all in one safe place. I can even use it to place a Starbucks order for when the bridal party needs that caffeine.
What type of client do you attract?
My ideal client is a southern small-town DIY bride that needs guidance and support throughout her wedding planning journey. She has her own ideas but needs someone to help her find a dream team that will execute her day with creative and innovative wedding solutions.
What is your favorite moment on wedding day?
My favorite moment on the wedding day is the send-off. Not because it is over or the feeling of accomplishment. It is because that is when the couple’s family and friends gather together to lift the them up one last time as they start their new journey together.
What advice can you give and/or have you received that you can pass on to new/existing planners?
Move past the fear and just start. When I started Southern Pop Events it was intimidating to think about stepping into the wedding planning world. I did my research, found The Bridal Society, and took the leap. That leap with the education I have received from The Bridal Society has led me to have great confidence in my abilities and has helped my business surpass expectations.
What advice do you have for engaged couples?
Don’t Rush. Getting engaged is exciting! So ride the wave and don’t feel pressured to book the first venue or first vendor you meet. Take your time, do your due diligence, and enjoy the ride!
